I have received a report from General Li Fu-lin and District Kagistrate shu P'eng on the subject of the derailment
and robbery of the express from canton to Iowlcom at sha Ts'u
I'ou on the 18th, instant.
The report states that secret information of the
tracks of the gang was given by a robber named T'ai sh'uan - who
was captured and that with the aid of the soldiers and police
four of the notorious robbers in this case were arrested at Le
Keng village, their manes being Chung Chen Chien, thung th'ao-
kao, Chung Jui Liang and Chung Hung-yao.
Those men vare sent to me for axamination and punishment
I have ordered them to be interrogated and they all confo KA
having robbed the train and divided the booty. The names of
many of the criminals still at large išs given.

Kung thao-yao has bean detained for the time being
in order to give evidence and the three robbers Chung Chen-
shipm, Chung thạo-kao and Chung Jui-liang have been sent back
to the P'an Tu Magistrate to be taken back to the scam of the
oring and shot as a warning to others.
I have given strict orders for the robbers still at
large to bẹ arrested and brought to justios in the interests or
maintenanos of oommmications.
